What playthrough means

A 5x playthrough on Sweeps Coins means five times the balance in credited wagering. At 100% contribution you stake 5 SC per 1 SC held; at 20% contribution you stake 25 SC, because only one fifth of each stake is credited.

Playthrough, also called a wagering requirement, is the total you must stake before a balance can be redeemed or withdrawn. At an online casino it applies to bonus funds; at a sweepstakes casino it usually applies to Sweeps Coins. It counts the amount put through games, not the amount lost.

A 1x requirement on 100 Sweeps Coins means 100 SC must be staked. The balance is not taken away and staked once — you play with it, win some plays and lose others, and the requirement counts the total amount put through the game.

That distinction matters, because it means the cost of a requirement is not the requirement itself. Staking 100 SC at a 4% house edge costs about 4 SC on average, not 100 SC. The requirement determines how much play; the house edge determines what that play costs.

The two numbers that turn a requirement into a cost

T = (B × m) ÷ c

expected cost = T × (1 − r)

m multiplies the amount you must stake. Contribution c divides it — at 20% contribution you stake five coins for every one that counts. Only then does the house edge price the result.

A multiplier is rarely the whole rule. The conditions below can matter more than the number, because breaching one can void a requirement outright regardless of how much has been staked.
